The Genealogy Register

This web site grew out of my efforts to trace my ancestry. For most of my ancestors, this was going back only a few generations. One ancestor, however, was a different story. Much to my surprise, the ancestry of my great-grandmother Cora Burns can be traced back to the Quaker colonization in 1682. And if you go back further, some lines of her ancestry have supposedly been traced back to nearly the year 1,000. I now have a lifetime hobby to verify all this information. Cora's family tree.

I found most of the clues to my great-grandmother's ancestry by searching on-line. As I became fairly good at searching the various web sites, friends and relatives have asked me to give them suggestions for searching for family trees. This Web site grew out of those suggestions. You see, I work in a fairly technical field. So, I often reach for technical solutions to problems.

Now be sure to check out the Active Searches page. It will make your searching easier.
